I am delighted that these new sketchbooks have been selected for the Devon Guild Spring Show, which runs from 29 May to 10 July.
The Spring Show is an annual selected exhibition of the very best new work by Guild members, and this year it attracted a record number of submissions.
The sketchbooks are bound in organic, vegetable tanned goatskin leather in the cross structure style, and I like to use two colours or tones in this way. It is a structure with a wonderful simplicity, elegant and minimalist, but very practical too with flexible covers and the pages lying flat when opened.
Measuring 19cm x 14cm, the sketchbooks contain 190gsm Bockingford watercolour paper, with softly textured Murano endpapers in co-ordinating colours. They are hand sewn with waxed linen thread.
Find them in the Jubilee Gallery at the Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Bovey Tracey, in very good company alongside some inspirational new work from members including glass, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, prints and more.
